Install analytics on your website!
Even if you don’t plan on looking at your analytics for months, you should install them as soon as possible anyway. They can be gathering data silently in the background, giving you a treasure trove of information about the behavior of your site visitors to use when you are ready to start improving your website.
IMPORTANT: Once you have Google Analytics installed on your website, don’t forget to update your site privacy policy. In fact, this step is probably safer when done before you “go live” with your new analytics code! Now that the EU’s GDPR is in full effect, this step is especially important.
It only takes a few minutes to sign up for Google Analytics and install it on your website, and it’s free! You can sign up at https://analytics.google.com/ with your Google account.
